This lick has a pedal tone kind of vibe, but isn't exactly a pedal tone. It is, however, a cool lick and a really good left-hand exercise, and isn't as tough as it might sound or look.Figure 1 one is a short, repetitive fragment that highlights the basic mechanics of the exercise.
Figure 2 expands this idea across the fretboard. This is intended to work all four fingers on the fretting hand, in addition to improving your ability to slide into and out of positions.
