Using All 8 Fingers

The following examples use all 8 fingers. As well as practicing the patterns themselves, you will need to practice muting strings (or use a string damper of some kind) or they can sound messy.

Example 1 is based on the pentatonic scale; examples 2,3 and 4 are symmetrical and don't really make sense as any particular scale.

Example 4 is very tricky and involves sliding with both the first finger of the fretting hand and the first finger of the tapping hand.

Be free to experiment in all positions or try different patterns all over the neck.
